Oh my. I think I've done it again. I just don't have time to post as often...
So what have I been up to? Uh...well...Oh!
I came up to Pittsburgh as you all know! That was fun. Let's do that again sometime :)
I'm trying to convince my parents to take me up to Sewickley for Semi, but, sadly, I don't really think that will happen.
I went to a sweet 16 on Friday from 7:30 to midnight. It was this awesome dance party - lots of fun! Some of you have already been Facebook stalking me and have seen the pictures...*shudder* It was really cool though because it was a Devils/Angels themed party, so I went out and got this slick white tie. I'll put pictures up as soon as I get them from my brother...
In other news, my personal project is going pretty well. For those of you who have forgotten (like I would have), the personal project is a long-term interest-based project. For example, mine is learning to paint, and I've been working on it for the past three months. Most of the other students have been working on theirs through the summer.
I've gotten a decent amount of work done, so I'm happy. Would you like to see pictures of what I've done, or is that unimportant?
Hm...Oh. Well, I got a new iPod too. I had birthday money that I felt I should spend. Considering that everything else I wanted to buy, my mom told me "Your relatives are going to be asking about Christmas soon. What should I tell them", a new Nano was the only logical choice (Wow, I've successfully made it sound like I HAD to buy something and that there was this long drawn-out process!)...I really like it. It's shiny and red and it plays music! Haha, that's good enough for me ;)
But yeah, you can read about the new Nanos on Apple's website or Wikipedia. I really don't feel like writing it, heh...
And speaking of Apple and music, I found an iTunes gift card in a pile of already used cards that I for some reason kept. Lucky me! Haha...
Uh, let's see. What else is there...Heh, I really love being able to write in colloquial (everyday) language here. It makes life so much more enjoyable.
[GARRET used Colloquial Language!]
[GARRET's Quality of Life rose greatly!]
Haha...yeah...now I feel lame.
...Too bad :)
Ah. I'm back to the age-old question: What instrument do I want to play?
For a while I've thought the guitar, or preferably the bass guitar, would be that magic instrument. Now I'm having second thoughts...maybe I should pick the piano back up? Or how about I learn something completely CRAZY! But that would mess with my logic: the reason why I'm unsure about the bass guitar is because the kind of people who play it do not equal my persona. But I still think I should play it!
H'ok, moving on. Tomorrow is our last day of school! Then we have break which means...THANKSGIVING! I think this is the first time I've ever been EXCITED for Thanksgiving - and it has nothing to do with no school!...well, maybe partly...
I think it's because I keep seeing ads on TV with good Thanksgiving turkey, and now I want some OM NOM NOM
Hm...Haha, I watched the second half of The Santa Clause on the Disney Channel the other day. Then when it ended I watched last 2/3rds of The Karate Kid, Part II. Very good movie. Lemme give a quick rundown on why it's such a great movie:
It's not cheesy.
The fighting may not seem so real, but it's definitely serious. (i.e. people actually appear hurt, no one's a superhuman, etc.)
No one is all good or all bad.
It's set in Okinawa, Japan.
The music for the calmer scenes is well-composed.
The movie portrays love in a way lost to our society: in the 2/3rds I watched, there was one kiss (I think it may have been interrupted just before, though). Romance did not mean physical attraction or sex. It meant wanting to spend time with that person and wanting to protect them.
That's what I call a quality movie. That's just my opinion; to each his own.
What else is there to talk about...hm. Well. Here's a message for each of you who reads this.
Tom: Keep talking to me. It's fun and it keeps me away from homework.
Krista: I haven't talked to you in so long! We should totally have a late night/early morning chat while I'm supposed to be doing a project! Haha...do we dare try to name all 150 Pokemon again? HAHAHA YES
Alex: ALEX YOUR HAIR IS AWESOME
Chrissy: I'm still in shock that you read my WHOLE BLOG in one night! Haha we hardly talk...ah well, we will sometime. :P
Timmy: Are you still in Spain? How is it? Hope you're having an awesome year.
Have a nice day. - Bon Jovi

I WAS THE CREEPER hahahhaha and i knew you were gonna comment like that, i was like most creeper ever hahha
haha i wasn't the one who forgot what the personal project was, im one of the people that would remember haha. didn't know you were looking after learning to paint though.
haha i dont even have an ipod yet, thats all i have to say to that
SHOW ME PICTURES OF THE PERSONAL PROJECT! im clearly the only person who cares haha
ahh which instrument? i think bass guitar... not so much, i mean the whole not fitting your personality thing is right. and i can't really see you as a piano kid either, im thinking the legit guitar is awesome hhaa.
nice with the whole watching disney movies... and all the extra stuff you put in there which is basically too trivial for me to really have anything to say about it. thanks for the message haha ill keep creepin on you and talking to you until you tell me to stop....
have a nice dc life!
i totally loved the synopsis of the karate kid and totally agree on the whole romance thing =) i didn't remember the whole personal project thing because i read your whole blog in one sitting lol but i'm so pumped you actually posted again...my life was getting boring!!! lol and please do put the pics up!
and for instrument i totally think you should pick up the oboe so we can duet hahaha but in all seriousness, you should it's ridiculous
okay now i'm ACTUALLY being serious and i think you should play bass...that'd be really cool and who really cares about the personality thing??
and i really enjoyed the bon jovi reference =)
garrettt!
yay for blog posting
and i agree with thomas that the title is excelente.
but yes i remember you came to PITTSBURGH
and i was soo happy cause you got to be in PROGRAMMING with me and we DEFINITELY have to do it again sometime! (or maybe i'll come to your school next time?? haha)
glad to hear that you had fun at the party and i MUST see the pictures! especially with your slick white tie ;)
glad to hear that your pp is going well. (haha that sounds kind of wrong, especially because the first time i typed "is doing" instead of "is going"...wow krista, wow)
so what are you painting? like modern stuff or kind of classic stuff or your own stuff?
haha as of today i found out that we get to design our own final project for art of comp and i have no idea what to do...i want to write a song, or make a video (like a really funny one) or something fun but i feel like mr. c takes it wayy seriously. and it has to have a writing component! (haha which i guess makes sense because it IS art of comp...but still)
and i have a physics project next month! but it's a partner one and we haven't gotten our topics yet so i'm just gonna not worry about it till thanksgiving break's over.
andddddd
i have to write a short story for art of comp...we've supposedly been working on them for three weeks, but i just can't get inspired to write something good!
no me gusta.
but yes, i will be writing said 12 page story over break haha. any ideas?
well now that you're done hearing about my dull dull life (lol)....i'd LOVE to see pictures of what you've done so far! i'm sure it's all awesomeeee
(yes, with four e's at the end)
lolololololololol i LOOOOOVE the [Garret used Colloquial Language!] thing....it was hilarious although it took me like four years to get it i was like hmmm i know what that is except i can't think of it and then i thought of it and i was like yessssss garret has not changed at all except for the fact that he's even taller now than he was before
:D
very nice analysis of the karate kid, haha. very deep. i was impressed. especially the stuff about love, i was like O_O
as for the santa clause...wow, it's not even a month from christmas yet, haha. i'm not quite ready for stockings and fireplaces and candy and presents...wait, what am i talking about, of course i'm ready for candy and presents!.... haha
i don't like thanksgiving though. i don't really like turkey or stuffing or cranberry sauce or corn or whatever.
the only thing i really like is pumpkin pie sans crust and LOTS of whipped cream. not even for the sexual implications, just because i loooove whipped cream
but yesss we simply must have another late night/early morning talk when we're both delirious and everything's hilarious!
and we'll do the pokemon thing again.
but neither of those tonight, i am EXHAUSTED. but break starts tomorrow night so then we have like a week to get back on tracckkkk
ps- i still love your ornament smileys. the frogs were great too but we don't want to kill them. :P
oooh and as for instrument, you should play the bassoon.
because nobody plays the bassoon in high school so you could get a scholarship for it plus you'd have the distinction of being a bassoonist.
hahahahaha
jk
well sorta, unless you really do want to play the bassoon. if you do, i'll totally take it up with you!! ;)
but other than that...do whatever you'll be most passionate about. it sounds cheesy and cliche, but it's true. pick the instrument that you like the best and you "feel" the most and no matter what your persona is or whatever it'll turn out wonderfully.
You're asking the wrong people...I am your key to semi.
